Complaint against outgoing Mayor Shrestha and PA Lamichhane of Kalika municipality for corruption of more than 250 million

Shishir Simkhda, Chitwan. A complaint has been filed against the outgoing Mayor Khumnarayan Shrestha (Gopi) of Kalika Municipality, Chitwan and his PA Dipak Lamichane in the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission, Kathmandu.

According to Commission sources, the Commission’s registration No. C007128 has been registered against them for corruption of more than 25 million rupees of the municipality. It is alleged that Mayor Shrestha and his PA Lamichane have earned huge wealth in collusion. Even before this, a complaint was lodged against PE Lamichane on the allegation of amassing wealth. During his tenure, Mayor Shrestha appointed Lamichane as a contract computer operator and entrusted him with setting up every development, construction and procurement work in the city.

In the 3-page long complaint against Shrestha and Lamichane, the list of their corruption has been mentioned. Although Lamichane is still working in the same position in the municipality, municipal sources have informed that he has been going to the municipality once in 15 days and has been receiving salary for 4 months.

Even before this, there was news that a complaint was filed against Lamichane for misusing the private number of the government Pulsar motorcycle and misusing the municipal government vehicle.Outgoing Mayor Shrestha is a member of the Bagmati Province Committee of the CPN, while his then PA Lamichane is the vice-chairman of the CPN’s Kalika City Committee.
